Film posters

I found these posters because in every one there is something that I like and could use for my work, I looked at a range of posters and I looked mainly at minimalistic and simple posters because I think that it would attract the audience that I am targeting which is more of a niche market.
I also found that with many of the horror posters that the main colour used was black or red which I will use as inspiration for my poster.






Submarine- I like this poster because of the brightness and it seems quite innocent as well, my poster will be influenced by this poster because of the burst of colour used.
I'm not there- I like this poster because of the silhouette and also the reflection off of the glasses which makes it seem more 3 dimensional,
Disturbia- I like this poster because of the use of the red and orange in the binoculars which is something that I might attempt for my poster by making just one part a colour.
Red Riding Hood- Again the focus of the poster is the use of the red which draws you in to the poster.
Let me in- This poster also uses red and I also like the angle that the camera is in, so for my poster I will trial with a mixture of angles to find an make a more interesting picture.
Wolfman- This poster is really effective because of the use of black and white, I like how you can only see one side of the face which makes the poster seem more sinister which is a technique that I will try out.
The next three days- I like this poster because of the picture that is put on top the the mans head which makes the poster seem dramatic.
13- I like the close up of the gun because it doesn't give anything away apart from the fact that there is probably violence involved, I also like how just an object is used which I could try for my poster.
Your world has been adjusted- I like this poster because of the writing which is really bold, for my poster I need to find a font and colour that I can use which will make my poster more effective like this poster.
Margin Call- This poster is really vibrant with just the colours blue and white, I like how simple but effective the poster is.
Super 8- This poster is really effective because of the effects that have been used on the scenery, my poster could be influenced by this because I could use a scenery shot instead of an object or person.

Here is a slideshow of some stills from the film "Submarine", I chose some shots which I thought were interesting, shots that stood out to me and shots that I could probably use for my own trailer.
Also the writing that was used in the trailer I would probably use to influence my own work because I think that it is really vibrant and writing that really stood out for me.

This is the film Submarine, it is a film which I want to base mine on because I like the artistic angles that are used I also like the fact that it is quite an artistic film and the film itself is quite charming and shows that low budget films are just as interesting and exciting as blockbusters. The market for this film would probably be young adults which is the target market for my film, it is very niche and I also like the fact that the film uses a lot of scenery which I think I could be capable of achieving with my trailer.

I like the music choice because as the trailer is nearing the end it becomes much louder and dramatic, which is what I want to try and attempt with my trailer.

I also like the fact that there is so much dialogue because it gives you an idea of what the film is like but it doesn't give away what will actually happen in the film I prefer the idea of having a voice over rather than actual words running through the trailer because I think it makes the trailer much more personal.

I saw this film at the independent cinema "The Electric Palace" and by seeing the trailer and the film itself, it gave me many ideas which I would be able to use for my trailer, also a place like the electric palace would be somewhere where I would want my film to be shown, instead of somewhere much more mainstream like the Odeon or Cineworld.
